Plus-Size Bra Calculator
This calculator runs the full extended range, bands to 60 and cups to P, using the same honest no-add method as our standard tool. For softer or pendulous shapes it also explains the lean-forward measurement, which captures tissue that a standing measurement misses.
Fit quality matters more at larger sizes because the loads are larger: a well-fitted band prevents the shoulder grooves, neck strain and underbust irritation that a guessed size guarantees.
This calculation runs entirely in your browser. Your measurements are never stored or sent anywhere.
The lean-forward measurement, and when to use it
Standing measurements under-read soft or pendulous tissue because gravity carries volume downward and forward. If your shape is soft, take a second bust measurement leaning forward 90 degrees so tissue hangs perpendicular, and use a number midway between standing and leaning as your bust input. Full-bust and plus specialist brands cut for exactly this fuller reading.
On the band: measure snug to the point of firm. Plus-range bands stretch further per size than core-range bands, and a band bought comfortable on day one has nothing left to give by month three. You should start a new band on the loosest hook with real firmness.
Construction that earns its keep
At extended sizes, construction separates bras that work from bras that exist: look for taller side wings that contain and smooth, three or four hook columns, seamed cups with a strong lower panel that lifts from below, and cushioned non-slip straps. Brands engineering genuinely at these sizes include Elomi, Goddess, Ewa Michalak and Glamorise; their deep-cup patterns fit projected shapes that mainstream molded cups flatten and spill.
Style guidance by shape: projected and bottom-full shapes thrive in seamed full cups; softer shapes want firm lower support with stretch-lace top edges that follow the tissue; wide-set shapes need narrower gores and side support panels. The shape identifier below pins this down in four questions.
